Iliamna Lake is known for it's sport fishing, offering anglers Rainbow Trout, Grayling, Chinook Salmon, and Sockeye Salmon. August through September is the best time to catch Rainbow Trout, although the Kvichak River Policy on trout and all other native fish is catch and release, excluding salmon.
